SATAN’S WAY OF DECEIT

BIBLE COMMENTARY

– The Scripture states that God’s children, as they are called children of the Light, are capable of recognizing Satan’s schemes.

2CORINTHIANS 2: 11 – … in order that Satan might not outwit us. For WE ARE NOT UNAWARE OF HIS SCHEMES.

– Christians are in a constant battle with Satan and his demons, minions, his children, therefore we must understand and recognize the way Satan has been deceiving the world, especially Christians.

– First, we should look at how Satan tempted the Lord Jesus Christ before He came out for His ministry.

MATTHEW 4: 1-11 – 1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, He was hungry. 3 The tempter came to Him and said: If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread. 4 Jesus answered: It is written ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’. 5 Then the devil took Him to the holy city and had Him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 If you are the Son of God, he said, throw yourself down. For it is written: He will command His angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 7 Jesus answered him: It is also written ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test’. 8 Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 All this I will give you, he said, if you will bow down and worship me. 10 Jesus said to him: Away from me, Satan! For it is written ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only’. 11 Then the devil left Him, and angels came and attended Him.

– The story in the above passages shows us that Satan had used verses in the Scripture trying to deceive the Lord Jesus Christ. But he failed.

– From those passages we understand that one of the ways Satan has been deceiving both Christians and the world is picking one verse or one passage in the Scripture and twisted its meaning to suite his evil scheme.

– His demons, minions and children have been using the same way to deceive other people into believing that their actions have support from God’s words.

– For example, they said ‘God wants us to be loving people therefore we must protect immigrants and shield them from deportation’. They even labeled who wants to do otherwise are haters and fascists.

– Their statement is clearly showing they are evil and using Satan’s way to deceive other people.

– We must know that when quoting Scriptures for our actions we must consider all relating verses in the whole Scripture. Never using just one verse to support our intention or actions.

– Although God wants Christians to be loving people, but He never want us to be stupid loving people, blindly loving people or to support lawbreakers.

1TIMOTHY 1: 8-10 – 8 We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. 9 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers, and FOR WHATEVER ELSE IS CONTRARY TO THE SOUND DOCTRINE.

LOVE IN TRUTH, NOT IN LIES

– When Christians love, we must love according to the truth, both in the Scripture and in life.

2JOHN 1: 3 – Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in TRUTH AND LOVE.

– Therefore Christians should not love blindly or in a stupid way. After all we are children of the Light, not of the darkness.

– When those religious leaders labeled other people who have opposite view as anti-immigrants, they lied and not speaking the truth. Americans always love immigrants because almost Americans have immigrant background from their forefathers. (My sister has waited for 13 years to have her application called upon). But illegal immigrant is another matter, quite different.

– So, when some religious leaders called on people to love and to support illegal immigrants, they were liars and have been deceiving others to support lawbreakers. They have used the Satan’s way to further their political agenda and blasphemed God’s name by using Scriptures for their evil purposes.

– Those lying religious leaders will not be saved, because the Scripture already dictates it.

2THESSALONIANS 2: 10 – and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing. They perish because THEY REFUSE TO LOVE THE TRUTH and so be saved.

PRIOPRITY

– National governments must always prioritize its own citizens first and then have a few exception in very special circumstances. That is the truth according to the Scripture.

– The Lord Jesus Christ had established that truth more than 2,000 years ago when He spoke to a Canaanite woman.

MATTHEW 15: 21-28 – 21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. 22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to Him, crying out: Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly. 23 Jesus did not answer a word. So His disciples came to Him and urged Him: Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us. 24 He answered: I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. 25 The woman came and knelt before Him: Lord, help me! she said. 26 He replied: It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs. 27 Yes it is, Lord, she said, even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table. 28 Then Jesus said to her: Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted. And her daughter was healed at that moment.

– Although God loves the whole world but when Jesus came He must minister His people first.

JOHN 3: 16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

MATTHEW 15: 24 – He answered: I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.

– The Lord Jesus Christ always spoke the truth, but because the Canaanite woman had great faith so in that special circumstance He granted her her wish.

– Therefore, in America, the government should prioritize their resources to solves its citizen’s homeless problem first before taking care of foreigners in the country as illegal immigrants.
