Bible: 1Kings 12: 26-32
Main verse: PSALM 29: 1 – Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

– There is one question that has been repeatedly asked throughout Christian’s history, and that is, “How can we be blessed by God?” This question has been asked at home, at church, and every individual has asked this question at least once.
– God knows what Christians have in mind, so He has given the answer in the Bible to teach us how to have blessings from God. We should glorify God with every aspect of our lives.
– Our God is the Almighty God, the Creator of the whole universe, so we should remember to glorify Him always.
PSALM 24: 10 – Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.
THI THIÊN 24: 10 – Vua vinh hiển nầy là ai? Ấy là Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân, chính Ngài là Vua vinh hiển.
REVELATION 4: 11 – Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.
KHẢI HUYỀN 4: 11 – Lạy Đức Chúa Trời là Chúa chúng tôi, Chúa đáng được vinh hiển, tôn quí và quyền lực; vì Chúa đã dựng nên muôn vật, và ấy là vì ý muốn Chúa mà muôn vật mới có và đã được dựng nên.

THI THIÊN 29: 1 – Hỡi các con của Đức Chúa Trời, hãy tôn Đức Giê-hô-va vinh hiển và quyền năng.
– There are some Christians who think that because God is already glorified, we don’t need to glorify Him anymore. However, if we look at the meanings of some verses in the Bible, then we will understand why we should glorify Him always.
PSALM 96: 3 – Declare His glory among the heathen, His wonders among all people.
THI THIÊN 96: 3 – Hãy thuật sự vinh hiển Ngài giữa các nước, truyền các công việc lạ lùng Ngài giữa các dân.
– There are more than 2 billion people who believe in God and the salvation in Jesus Christ, but the rest of the world, of more than 4 billion, still do not know about Him or believe in Him. Only 1/3 of the world’s population understand that we should glorify God. That’s why Christians should bring Good News to them so that more of them can join in to glorify God with us.
1CORINTHIANS 10: 31 – Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of G
1CÔ-RINH-TÔ 10: 31 – Vậy, anh em hoặc ăn, hoặc uống, hay là làm sự chi khác, hãy vì sự vinh hiển Đức Chúa Trời mà làm.
– This verse should set up a goal for all Christians and for all churches. Today, we will find out the reasons why us Christians should glorify God.
– Firstly, we have to have faith in order to glorify God. People who have little faith, like a baby, cannot do that because like babies in the physical life, they just want to satisfy their personal needs and nothing else. Only adults understand that they should look after the interest of others. It’s the same in spiritual life.
1CORINTHIANS 13: 11 – When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1CÔ-RINH-TÔ 13: 11 – Khi tôi còn là con trẻ, tôi nói như con trẻ, tư tưởng như con trẻ, suy xét như con trẻ; khi tôi đã thành nhân, bèn bỏ những điều thuộc về con trẻ.
1CORINTHIANS 3: 1 – And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1CÔ-RINH-TÔ 3: 1 – Hỡi anh em, về phần tôi, tôi chẳng có thể nói với anh em như với người thiêng liêng, nhưng như với người xác thịt, như với các con đỏ trong Đấng Christ vậy.
– As we want the church to grow, we must first have the same goal of wanting to glorify God. We have to unify around this goal to work together. That’s why we go out to evangelize others. That’s why we encourage others to praise God in churches and everywhere we can. We should spread the Good News more widely, so the day of His coming will be nearer.
MATTHEW 24: 14 – And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
MA-THI-Ơ 24: 14 – Tin Lành nầy về nước Đức Chúa Trời sẽ được giảng ra khắp đất, để làm chứng cho muôn dân. Bấy giờ sự cuối cùng sẽ đến.
– The second reason why we should have the same goal of glorifying God is because we can be unified as the like-minded group of people and at the same time can be able to avoid conflict of interests while working together.
– As we have the same goal of glorifying God, we will give support to each other to achieve our common goal. It is good for the Christian community and it also pleases God. He will reward us greatly for working together to make Him known to the whole world.
– We can find example of the benefit of unifying in God’s glory and the disaster of having different goals in the Israelite’s history, especially the period after King Solomon’s death.
– If we want an example of the benefit of unity in modern time, then we can have a look into sport, like a soccer team and see how they play successfully if all of the players actually yearn for a common goal.
– It’s the same in all churches. Without a common goal, good one, the local church will never find unity among its members. Wanting to glorify God is the best goal of all. All Christians should consider this and try their best to glorify God.
– To achieve it, each Christian should consider carefully before speaking or doing anything in this life. We should constantly ask ourselves this: Will God be glorified if we speak like this, or do that?
– May God help us with our determination to glorify Him as best as we can and may God reward us abundantly with wonderful blessings when we all want to live for Him. Amen.
