When the government forced businesses to increase the minimum wage for unskilled workers, some people believed it was a wrong moved in a depressed economy. What they were worried for the future of those workers has happened in the last few months. Businesses have been pushed prices on their merchandizes higher to compensate for their profits lost by increased minimum wage and made them more expensive for customer to buy. Yesterday, a former CEO of a fast food chain said that it’s a lot cheaper to buy a $35,000 robotic arm to serve customers than to hire unskilled workers with the minimum wage that government required. The intention to help workers turned out to be a disaster to them. There will be huge job loss in the country and instead of better pay, better life, there will be a lot of poor and unemployed. That’s an example of failure of centrally plan that government has tried so hard in the last decades, thinking they are masters of everything and want to control all aspects of society without leaving their ivory tower. The verse for today is:
(Proverbs 30: 8) Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food You prescribe for me.
