As economy deteriorated bad behaviors happened, but now in U.S. it not only economy has entered a depression period, the moral perception in people is also decreased significantly, and when they are combined together it leads to more worse behaviors. We have read some reports that the thievery in America has been increased many folds when people see it as a practical and acceptable way to improve their living situation or even their life style and they do that without any remorse. In California, for example, with the Proposition 47 which allows treating theft under $950 dollars as a misdemeanor, it helps people to be more bold to take what they want without paying for it. Thievery without consequences or penalty only helps the situation to be more depressed. Look at the politicians and we can see something much more worse. When they are treating themselves as the ones above the law and cannot be prosecuted, there is almost nothing on this Earth stopping them to rob the country bare. It is true that only the small men, the ordinary citizens suffer. Therefore we pray God to preserve our lives in peace in small, quiet corners of society until we leave for His kingdom. The verse for today is:
