Daily Bible
Today we heard the news of a Catholic priest in London, Ontario (Canada) gambled away half a million dollars from the fund for the refugees of Iraqui Chaldean Catholic Church. It’s a news that atheist could seize as an opportunity to criticize organized religion again (after much publicity of the child abuse scandal that shook the Catholic church from the past ten years). They are valuable lessons for Christians as a whole. People who are in leader position should be very careful about their ways of life. They should follow the standards in the Bible more closely than ordinary believers because of their higher status. We know it is hard but anyway we must obey because the honor of the church and the name of our Lord Jesus are upon us. One thing we are sure that if we do not ask for help from the Holy Spirit, we never be able to achieve the standards set forth in the Bible for us. For that we mean our thought as well. People can achieve outward righteousness, can be admired by others, but our thought is the most important. It must be pure and righteous. God knows what we are thinking before we commit an act, good or bad That’s why we all need help from the Holy Spirit. He is the only One can purified our though constantly until the day we stand in front of God. According to the Scripture, if we need His help, we must learn to obey and never offend Him in anyway. So the verse for today is:
(Ephesians 4: 30) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
(Ê-phê-sô 4: 30) Anh em chớ làm buồn cho Đức Thánh Linh của Đức Chúa Trời, vì nhờ Ngài anh em được ấn chứng đến ngày cứu chuộc.
