Daily Bible

That night in Gethsemane, Jesus commanded His disciples to stay there with Him and keep watch (Matthew 26: 38), but none of them could obey because their eyes were heavy and they all fell asleep from sorrow. They had traveled a far distance to Jerusalem for the Passover and now their bodies were tired that they just wanted to sleep (Matthew 26: 43). Moreover, because they all had heard from their Teacher that He would be crucified by the chief priest and by the elders of Israel (Matthew 16: 21) so their hearts were filled with sorrow that they could not stay awake (Luke 22: 45). Nowadays Jesus is also telling us Christians should be there with Him and keep watch spiritually. To be able to do that we should have for ourselves a time that we can be alone with God then ask Him to forgive our sins, our mistakes so that sorrow can never get inside us. Eliminating our spiritual tiredness and sorrow will help us worthy to be His disciples, to always be where He wants us to be. The verse for today is:
(Mark 14: 38) Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
(Mác 14: 38) Hãy tỉnh thức và cầu nguyện, để các ngươi khỏi sa vào chước cám dỗ; tâm thần thì muốn lắm, mà xác thịt thì yếu đuối.
