As it is written in the Bible, although God allowed Adam to eat all the fruits in the Eden, he was not permitted to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and God said if he did he would surely die. That meant a physical death. Therefore if Adam did not eat it he would surely live forever (no sin, no death as it is indicated in Romans 5: 12). That’s why God did not forbid him to eat the fruit of the tree of life. God only did that after Adam committed the first sin. Some Christian scholars argue that when God warned Adam of death if he ate the forbidden fruit He meant about spiritual death. But it’s absurd. If Adam was created to destine for physical death later, God did not need to write in His Scripture the verse in Romans 5: 12 nor warning Adam of death. He would be dead anyway regardless of eating that fruit or not. God never ever do anything in vain or pointless. He is the source of Wisdom and everything He does has it clear purpose. When God warned Adam of the physical death, it meant he had already lived an immortal life long before the fateful moment that he had the first bite of that forbidden fruit. So the verses for today is:
(Genesis 2: 16-17) And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die”.
