BIBLE COMMENTARY/Romans 12: 11

ROMANS 12: 11 – Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.

– God wants His children to be enthusiastic in all our works, especially in serving the Lord, because there are rewards, from God and from men, both physically and spiritually, for those who are like that,
– There are some examples about people who were enthusiastic in their works, at school or workplace and received rewards for their enthusiasm (give some examples to the class),
– Suggested question: We know God is Love, but why doesn’t He reward all His children, disregarding them being enthusiastic or lazy? Hint: He is also Just, so He cannot reward bad habit.
– Suggested question: Why do Christians have to be spiritual fervor all the time? Hint: 1. For personal benefit, to get favor and rewards from God because it is what He wants to see in His children. 2. All Christians are in a spiritual battle with Satan, so we must be on guard spiritually to win over temptation.
– Suggested question: Why do Christians have to serve God. Hint: Serving God is a spiritual necessity, like going to work, having a job, is a necessity of human life.
