BIBLE COMMENTARY/Psalm 37: 35
PSALM 37: 35 – I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a native green tree.
– God is in control of the universe (Psalm 33: 9) and all human life (Deuteronomy 32: 39), but He often allows things to happen, good and bad, to teach lessons in life. It’s not His intention to let bad things happen to humans (James 1: 13). People do that to themselves and God allows those things to happen.
– Bad things come from the devil who always wants to harm mankind, especially those who live a righteous life, like Job (Job 1: 9-11). Humans also have bad intentions to others because of greed and wickedness (1Timothy 6: 10).
– The wicked in great power are those who serve Satan, as he can give them great wealth in this life (Matthew 4: 8-9). God allows them to prosper, but at the end, He will judge them (Hebrews 9: 27). Each person’s life on Earth is the limit that God waits for them to repent (Amos 4: 12).
