BIBLE COMMENTARY/Psalm 10: 4

PSALM 10: 4 – The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts.

– God is Just and Good (Proverbs 21: 12, 1John 4: 16). That is why He sets up rules for the whole universe and for mankind (Job 28: 25-26, Psalm 19: 7) .
– An advanced society is one that has proper rules and regulations for its citizens to live on. God has rules for mankind so that humans can live peacefully together and be blessed by Him (Luke 10: 27).
– However while mankind wants a safe society for them to live in, many of them do not want to respect the law. It’s the same in the spiritual world. Humans often ignore God’s law in order to satisfy their greed (Psalm 14: 1, 36: 1).
– They usually despise God and His rules. They deceive themselves by thinking that there is no God.
– God always shows mercy and does not often give punishment right away for human’s wicked deeds, so many people think that there is no God (Ecclesiastes 8: 11). They do not understand that punishment is always there at the end of each human’s life (Hebrews 9: 27).
