BIBLE COMMENTARY/Proverbs 4: 7

PROVERBS 4: 7 – Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

– The Bible emphasizes that wisdom is the most important thing we should have while living in this life, so Christians should take heed and try the best to have it.
– There are many kind of wisdom among human beings, but because people are motal and all of us make mistakes from time to time, so the best wisdom we should have is the Word of God (Job 12: 13, Psalm 19: 7).
– Because God is immortal and His words have been around for thousands of years and have been tested by many generation, many different cultures and traditions (Deuteronomy 4: 6) so in God’s Words we will find true wisdom (Proverbs 2: 6).
– Because the wisdom in God’s Word is also the truth for the world, the treasures for humankind (Exodus 35: 31, Proverbs 3: 13, 3: 15, 8: 11), so we should dedicate our time, effort and resources to learn, remember, meditate and live accordingly (Proverbs 22: 17). Surely we will find peace, happines and eternal life by following its advice (Proverbs 15: 24).
