BIBLE COMMENTARY/Proverbs 4: 10
PROVERBS 4: 10 – Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many
– This verse was written by Solomon and his father was King David. Because Solomon’s proverbs was inspired by God (2Timothy 3: 16-17), so this verse was seen as the words of God speaking to all His people.
– God is Wisdom (Job 12: 13) and Love, so all of His sayings in the Bible are words of wisdom and beneficial greatly to all Christians (Psalm 119: 105). Every good advice that we need to have a happy and successful life was written in the Bible for thousands of years. All we need to do is taking heed and live on them, then we will see that our lives are blessed and satisfying (Deuteronomy 4: 6), and we will be wise (Psalm 19: 7, Proverbs 9: 10).
– Humans tend to think that we are wise enough to find a happy life for ourselves, but the reality is quite opposite (Proverbs 26: 12). Many high educated, successful people cannot find happiness in their lives and even rich people feel miserable. That’s why they turn to drugs to ease their personal unhappiness. Drug abuses are rampant among them.
– Therefore, if Christians want to have a good, happy, satisfying life, we should always remember God’s words, take heed and live accordingly.
