BIBLE COMMENTARY/Proverbs 22: 10

PROVERBS 22: 10 – Cast out the scoffer, and contention will leave; Yes, strife and reproach will cease.

– This can be applied to both oneself and toward others. When we try to improve our attitude, we will be a better person (Romans 12: 2). Our relationships with others will improve, because everyone would rather be around nice people than people who scoffs at others.
– When we avoid those types of people (1Thessalonians 5: 22), we will find our peace of mind and also avoid involvement when they get caught for their bad attitudes (Ephesians 5: 11).
– God wants us to be good people (2Peter 3: 14). This verse is one of many commands that God use to set up standards for our Christian life (Romans 7: 12), so we should obey and follow it (James 1: 22).
