BIBLE COMMENTARY/Proverbs 12: 15

PROVERBS 12: 15 – The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.

– It is the human nature to consider oneself is wise. Nobody actually think of himself or herself as a fool.
– But according to the Bible, a fool is a person who thinks himself as always right (Proverbs 14: 16). Because there are too many people think of themselves as such that the human world, from ancient times to nowadays, has been a place of misery, full of chaos, confusions and sorrow (Genesis 6: 12).
– Because people tend to think their ways are more correct than others, even more right than God’s, that’s why the human world always has wars, conflicts and fightings throughout its history (Proverbs 18: 6).
– In order to fix it, people should listen to advices and recommendations from others. But we know that humans are imperfect (Job 15: 14), even the most intelligent, so the best way to be wise is to listen to God’s advices in the Bible.
– Many people think that the suggestion of following the Bible’s advices is Christian’s bias, but if one thinks about it carefully then he will see that the advices in the Bible have been proven by many thousand years of experiences (Proverbs 8: 22).
– Advices from other religions have been come and gone or became irrelevant by changes and by today’ settings, but advices in the Bible are still applied befittingly all the time throughout human history and they will be more relevant when Jesus comes to Earth the second time (Proverbs 8: 35).
– Therefore, if we listen to God’s advices in the Bible carefull and live accordingly to them, we will be conted as wise and prudent people by God’ standards. It will bring more blessings and rewards for our lives as long as we live (Proverbs 3: 13-18).
