BIBLE COMMENTARY/Jude 1: 21
JUDE 1: 21 – Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
– One of the most serious mistakes that people have made is believing that God still loves them, even when they commit serious crimes to others and to God (Galatians 6: 7).
– God is Love but He is also Just, therefore He cannot forgive humans if they have sinned and not repented (Proverbs 21: 12, Romans 2: 5). God is willing to forgive the sins that humans have committed if they truly repented (Acts 3: 19), but mankind just keeps sinning non-stop from the ancient times.
– Christians should remember to keep ourselves in the love of God by trying our best not to sin. We know what we should do and what we should not do by reading the Bible and studying it.
– We should also look for His mercy by quickly repenting each sin we may commit. We cannot always do the right thing, but by repenting quickly, we’re showing to God that we are looking for His mercy, His forgiveness. It’s the best way to gain salvation and eternal life at the end when Jesus comes to Earth for the second time.
