BIBLE COMMENTARY/John 3: 16
JOHN 3: 16 – For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
– There is none who wants to sacrifice his son for the world. They could sacrifice their sons to idols for their own benefits, like the abominable customs of ancient people, or because they felt their children were a burden to them and they did not want them to be around anymore. But Jesus is the Word of God (John 1: 1) Who became a human to die for makind’ sins (Romans 5: 6), and that’s His love.
– To be saved and inherit the Heavenly kingdom with God forever, one must believe in Jesus and live according to His standards that were written in the Bible (Matthew 7: 21). Christians are only true to God and to ourselves when we obey God’s commands and try to live a good life to thank Him and to glorify Him.
– God never think of race as mankind does. Human beings are equally the same before God and the word ‘whosoever’ shows that God loves every human being that comes to Him and believes Him. Therefore Christians must live out our faith by action and deeds (James 2: 17).
