BIBLE COMMENTARY/John 13: 34
JOHN 13: 34 – A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
– This is a new commandment that God did not give to mankind before Jesus was born because He wanted them to look at His life as an example of how to love each other properly according to God’ standards (1John 3: 23).
– Everyone likes to love and to be loved, and all mankind knows how to love according to their ideas, but their kind of love has not been good enough to create true happiness. That’s why the human world is full of misery and disappointment. That’s why Jesus came to save the world and to teach mankind how to love properly so that they can experience true happiness while living on Earth (1Corinthians 13: 8, 1John 4: 18).
– When we want to learn how to love in His way, we should study His life and His teaching in the Bible and try our best to live and to love accordingly, then we will harvest the result of it and being satisfied with contentment for the rest of our lives.
