BIBLE COMMENTARY/Hebrews 3: 13
HEBREWS 3: 13 – But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
– This is what Christians should remember to do for each other: Warning our brothers and sisters in Christ of the dangers of sin. Sin is everywhere and disguises itself in many forms, and Christians should be aware of that.
– It is special true and important to those who are servants of God. They were called by God to alarm to Christian community about the dangers of sin (Ezekiel 33: 7). In the ancient times, the Israelites had prophets. In the modern times Christians have their pastors with the same responsibility. They should focus on this task more than anything else, because the chance for Christians to get into the Heaven depends on it.
– Remember that God only forgive sinners when they committed sin without intention. But when they committed it deliberately God will not forgive them (Hebrews 10: 26, Numbers 15: 30).
– Also remember that Christ only make intercession for sinners who committed sin without intention (1John 2: 1, Hebrews 7: 25). He will not advocate for those who committed sin deliberately (Hebrews 6: 4-6).
QUOTED VERSES:
NUMBERS 15: 30 – But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
EZEKIEL 33: 7 – So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
HEBREWS 6: 4-6 – For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, if they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
HEBREWS 7: 25 – Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
HEBREWS 10: 26 – For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins.
1JOHN 2: 1 – My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
