BIBLE COMMENTARY/Genesis 11: 7

GENESIS 11: 7 – Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

– God is Trinity and from the first book in the Bible, He has let us know about Him (Genesis 1: 26).
– One of the reasons that God confounded human language is because of their arrogance in wanting to be famous (Genesis 11: 4). The other reason is to make them scattered around the world (Genesis 11: 8).
– The third reason is to make them try to learn and understand each other (Mark 12: 33, Luke 10: 25-37). It’s a lesson, much like putting pieces of a puzzle together to create a beautiful picture, but humans have been acting quite contrary to God’s purpose and instead they go against each other, nation against nation, race against race (Matthew 24: 7).
– When humans want to be back under one system with one common language (like in the dream of globalists), then Jesus will come to Earth a second time (Isaiah 46: 10).
– From the beginning God does not want humans to gather together to do bad things (Genesis 11: 4). It was another reason that God confound the language of the people who wanted to build the tower of Babel.
– If they were successful in building the tower of Babel, it would only be remembered by the names of their leaders, as in the case of the Great Wall in China or the Pyramids in Egypt. Nobody actually remembers or has any compassion for millions of lives that have been lost because of such projects. Is there anyone among the thousands of visitors that came to see the Great Wall or the Pyramids who actually shed a drop of tears for the millions of laborers who were forced to build it? (Ecclesiastes 4: 1)
– By preventing the building of the tower of Babel, God let mankind know that He will never approve anything like that (Leviticus 25: 17, Psalm 143: 10). But He has given mankind the freedom of choice, so He let them build the Great Wall and Pyramids. That was what they wanted but they must pay for their sins after death as a consequence. God is Just, not a Tyrant.
– Human dictators always say that they do things for the populace, but they never give them the freedom they promised. Under such regimes they use their ‘people’ army to terrorize citizens and use their ‘people’ government to oppress fellow countrymen.
– God has given mankind the freedom of choice (Genesis 2: 16) and He will never take it back nor continue to prevent them from exercising it. However, freedom comes with consequences. That’s why heaven and hell are waiting for all of them after death.

GENESIS 1: 26 – And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

GENESIS 11: 4 – And they said: Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

GENESIS 11: 8 – So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

LEVITICUS 25: 17 – Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God.

PSALM 143: 10 – Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

ECCLESIASTES 4: 1 – So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

ISAIAH 46: 10 – Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying: My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.

MATTHEW 24: 7 – For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

MARK 12: 33 – And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices

LUKE 10: 25-37 – And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying: Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?. He said to him: What is written in the law? What is your reading of it? So he answered and said: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself. And He said to him: You have answered rightly; do this and you will live. But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus: And who is my neighbor? Then Jesus answered and said: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him: Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves? And he said: He who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him: Go and do likewise.
