BIBLE COMMENTARY / Genesis 1: 3
GENESIS 1: 3 – And God said: Let there be light, and there was light.
– This verse lets us know the way God created the universe: by His words only.
– God is invisible, but the Scripture has helped us to know Him by describing the works of His hands and the power of His eyes (Job 12: 10, Psalm 11: 4, 99: 5). God had created the vast universe by His words alone, so His power is beyond human comprehension.
– People might not understand how things were created or operated by mere words during ancient times, but with today’s technology we can easily understand because the technology of voice control is not strange to us.
– Modern technology can produce things operating by human voices, so God is more than able to create things by His words alone. He is the God Who gives mankind that ability to invent such technology.
