BIBLE COMMENTARY/Ephesians 4: 30

EPHESIANS 4: 30 – And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

– The Holy Spirit is the Power of God. He is so important that Jesus had warned that we Christians should not commit the sin of blasphemy against Him (Matthew 12: 31).
– He is the Seal of God that has been stamped on our hearts to prove that we are God’s children and to distinguish us from non-believers on the day Jesus comes back to Earth (Matthew 25: 31-32)
– The Seal was stamped on our hearts because we believed in Jesus Christ, and lived according to His teachings (Revelation 3: 20, John 14: 23, 1John 3: 24).
– Like a seal in real life, the Seal of the Holy Spirit could fade over time because of the sins Christians commit, by disobeying God’s commands, or refusing to follow His standards (Ephesians 4: 31-32).
– If we have disobeyed him, we should repent right away and God will forgive us (1John 1: 9), then the Seal of the Holy Spirit will be there always until the day we receive the salvation from Jesus when He comes back to Earth.
