BIBLE COMMENTARY/1Thessalonians 4: 8
1THESSALONIANS 4: 8 – He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, Who hath also given unto us His holy Spirit.
– The Bible is the Word of God and many people have found great benefits whenever they study it (2Timothy 3: 16-17). On the other hand, there are also many people who have attacked it and criticized it because they have not understood the Bible. It happened to them because they don’t have faith in God and don’t rely on the Holy Spirit for guidance to understand it (Mark 12: 24).
– The Bible is the Word of God because in it, God has revealed the Earth, and the universe and human history before science discovered them (1Corinthians 2: 10). It is also the Word of God because it has changed a lot of lives from bad to good (2Timothy 3: 15) and almost all of it’s prophecies have been fulfilled recently around the world (Romans 9: 28).
– Therefore anyone who despises it despises God and the Holy Spirit Who inspired those who wrote the Bible in human words. When Jesus comes back to Earth then they will see their greatest mistake and it will be too late for any of them to backtrack their criticisms. They surely will suffer the consequences as a result.
