BIBLE AND AMERICA

EXODUS 16: 1-3 – 1 The whole Israelite community set out from Elim and came to the Desert of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they had come out of Egypt. 2 In the desert the whole community grumbled against Moses and Aaron. 3 The Israelites said to them: If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.

– When the Israelites faced the hard reality of freedom outside of Egypt, they did not appreciate that they were not under the yoke of slavery anymore. They only thought of what they could eat if they were still slaves in Egypt.

– In America, many people had the same mindset. After the election in November 2024 they did not appreciate that they now had a chance to unburden the yoke of socialism, wokeism and insanity under the reign of the Democrats. They only thought of what they could eat and drink by demanding the new administration of Donald Trump to immediately lower the prices of groceries.

– When President Trump imposed tariffs on foreign goods imported into America trying to balance the trades with other countries, many Americans went against such EO because they only thought of the effects of tariffs on their food at the table. They did not remember that for many years America had been bled white by unfair trading (with Mexico 300 billion dollars a year and with Canada about 350 billion dollars a year). It seemed that they rather let their country went into bankruptcy or even being destroyed by massive debts than having the price of their food went a little higher.
