BIBLE COMMENTARY/Psalm 14: 2
BIBLE COMMENTARY/Psalm 14: 2
PSALM 14: 2 – The Lord looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
– As God’s Word indicates, the person who is considered wise and understanding is the one who seeks God to love and to fear Him (Proverbs 9: 10).
– Seeking God means looking into the Bible and seeing God’s wisdom recorded in every verse (2Timothy 3: 16-17). Those verses have been around for thousands of years and will be there forever (1Peter 1: 25). Many people around the world, despise their cultural and background differences, are still finding wisdom and good advices for their daily lives (Psalm 119: 98).
– People tend to find wisdom in those who have achieved higher education, but in reality, even they make mistakes, and sometimes they can commit crimes and do bad deeds (Romans 1: 22-23, 1Corinthians 3: 19).
– Those who loves God and live according to the Bible’ standards are wise, humble and loving (John 4: 16). They love others according to the Bible’s truth, and not in the way of the world. That’s why God called them people of understanding.
– We should always try our best to seek God, find Him and be close to Him for the rest of our lives. In doing so, we will be able to live a happy and healthy until we meet Him face to face.
